BACKGROUND
Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong Bassey is currently the Member representing lni State Constituency and the Chief Whip of the Akwa lbom State House of Assembly. He is a notable politician, born to the family of late Supol Ekpenyong Bassey of Okpoto Village, lwerre Clan in lni local Government Area, Akwa lbom State.
As a Christian, he is happily married to Mrs. Helen Bassey and the marriage is blessed with three children, Daniela, Emmanuella and Dunamis.

He attended his primary school at Army Children School, Barracks Road End, Uyo and finished in 1987.He proceeded to Lutheran High School Obot ldim lbesikpo, obtained his Junior Secondary School Certificate in 1990, and his Senior School Certificate (WACE).

Emmanuel Bassey as a hardworking, focused young man has graduated from the grassroots, to the state and national levels with outstanding footprints. As part of his sojourn in the leadership arena, he worked with the former Chairman of lni Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ebe as his Personal Assistant. Hon. Bassey served his boss with humility, loyalty and diligence. Emmanuel Bassey was well engaged in
various development activities due to his voracious taste for large scale pragmatic development of the state. This prompted him to join and mobilize youth across the state in ZOOT in support of the Governorship aspiration of Chief Godswill Akpabio. His hardwork and good thought came to fruition as His Excellency Chief Godswill Akpabio was elected Governor of Akwa lbom State in that year.
Emmanuel Bassey was appointed as Personal Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, a position he merited and held for eight (8) fruitful years. ln his commitment to give his best to such challenging and sensitive position, he worked efficiently and delivered to the expectation of his then boss (Chief Akpabio) and the youth of the state by extension. With his experience as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Hon. Emmanuel Bassey was found worthy to pilot the affairs of the Akwa lbom State Youth Caucus (an Apex Youth body in Akwa lbom State) as the chairman, he led the group for eight years.
His hardwork, experience and loyalty earned him the admiration of Akwa Ibom Youth and peoples Democratic Party in the state. He was elected the State Youth Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party. Always on point, Hon. Emmanuel Bassey conscious of the onerous demands of public office, immediately commenced work by establishing a framework for positive youth activities in the state. For a span of 8 years, he established and effectively
managed a functional, cohesive and result-driven youth structure in Akwa lbom State. As part of this, he successfully entrenched, directed and advanced the political impacts of the
Akwa lbom peoples Forum (AKPF), the Akwa lbom State Youth Caucus, while also leading the PDP youth Wing. The enviable dexterity of Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong Bassey in Youth
Mobilization was to the immense benefit of his party the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa lbom State, while also significantly building extensive solid youth-base for his then boss, the State Governor. Arising from these strategic leadership footprints, the people of Iwerre Clan-lni Local Area in 2010 found it worthy to confer on him the chieftaincy title of

Senator Emmanuel lbok Essien, FNSE, was born on December l-5th 1956 in lkot Abia ldem, lkot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa lbom State, Nigeria, to the family of late Rev. Peter lbok Essien . He began his Education at Methodist School, lkot Abia ldem (lkot Enwang) from 1962 to 1967 and later completed at Methodist School, ltu Mbang in Uruan Local Government Area in 1969 owing to the interruption of Nigeria civil war.
He proceeded to Methodist Secondary School, Nto Ndang, Obot Akara Local Government Area from L970 to 7979, where he sat for and passed the west African School Certificate Examinations with First Division (Grade one)’ Thereafter, he attended the erstwhile College of Technology Calabar, now Cross River State University of Technology on Cross River State Scholarship where he bagged a National Diploma in Electrical\Electronics Engineering with upper credit standing on graduation from the College of Technology; Calabar, he proceeded to Carleton university, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Canadian Bureau for international Aid scholarship where he obtained a second class upper division degree, in B.Eng.(Civil Engineering) in L982. Senator Emmanuel lbok Essien, FNSE, has worked variously in the Private and Public sectors. His work experience spanned from Engineer Trainee in the then Mobil Producing Nigeria now Exxon Mobil (1977-L982);
Pubic Engineer with lmo State Ministry of works and Housing (1982-1983); Engineer 1 and Acting Director of works and services at the Federal polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State (L983-1986). He was a Taxi Driver (1986-1989); Chief Executive Officer Ritman Limited (1987-1999) and presently, Chairman Ritman Group of Companies (1987-Date). He was elected into the Senate of The Federal Republic of Nigeria as senator representing Akwa lbom North West Senatorial District between 1999 and 2003, and served as Deputy Chief Whip of the senate among membership of various committees.
While in the senate, he used his position as principal officer to champion the abrogation of onshore\offshore oil dichotomy. He is a member of People democratic party (PDP) Board of Trustees; member National Executive Committee; member National, State and Local Government Caucuses of the party. He was a member Political Reform Conference (2005). lt is on record that he is the first Akwa lbom State Legislator to serve in the Economic Community OF West African states (ECOWAS) Parliament and elected Principal Officer of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He was the Chairman of the Governing council, Akwa lbom state Polytechnic, ikot osurua (i-998-1999); Chairman Federal Medical Centre, Yengoa, Bayelsa State (2005-2006) ‘ He was a Federal Commissioner\Member, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Abuja (2010-2015). Senator lbok Essien is currently National Chairman of the Apex Socio- Cultural Organisation in the Niger Delta Region, the PAN NIGER DELTA FORUM (PADEF) ln line with his passion for Education and Educational Advancement, Senator lbok Essien, has established and successfully managed Ritman Schools comprising Ritman Nursery\primary School, Ritman College where he is the Chairman Board of Governors (2003-Date) and Ritman University, lkot Ekpene, a Citadel of Academic Excellence, where he is the Founder\Visitor (2015- Date) As a philanthropist, he has through his scholarship Scheme Awarded Scholarships to many students from indigent families from primary to university levels in his schools and in other universities within and outside Nigeria.

Senator Emmanuel lbok Essien, FNSE, was born on December 15th 1956 in lkot Abia idem, lkot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa lbom State, Nigeria, to the family of Late Rev. Peter lbok Essien . He began his Education at Methodist School, lkot Abia ldem
Ikot Enwang) from 1962 to 1967 and later completed at Methodist School, ltu Mbang in Uruan Local Government Area in 1969 owing to the interruption of Nigeria civil war. He proceeded to Methodist Secondary School, Nto Ndang, Obot Akara Local Government Area from 1970 to 1979, where he sat for and passed the west African School Certificate

Thereafter, he attended the erstwhile College of Technology Calabar, now Cross River State

He cut his milk teeth in Legal practice during his NYSC service year with the Commercial Law Firm of Adedoyin Adedeji and co.Thereafter he joined the Legal Department of ICON ltd (Merchant Bankers) then on Broad Street Lagos as Legal Officer. He rose to Deputy Manager and thereafter resigned and set up Private Practice in Lagos in 2005, he represented Nigerian Youths as the General Counsel of Nigerian Youth
Association at the United Nations Commission on Human Right Seminar in Geneva, Switzerland where he made useful input into the global human right regime currently ru1ing the world.
Thereafter, he was recruited by the International Law group Chartered, a Washington DC based International Law Firm where he served internship and was subsequently posted to Lagos, Nigeria as its country Partner with concurrent oversight over Ghana and Cote de,Voire respectively. He later joined active politics and became the Akwa Ibom State Legal Adviser of the then Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN). Currently, he is serving the Governor of Akwa Ibom State as his Special Assistant on Legal Matters

On the 7th of February 1967, in the serene villoge of Nto Nsek, Afoho clan of Essien Udim Local Government Area, of Akwa lbom State.
ln the eve of the Nigerian civil war, it pleased God to release a child of destiny from eternity into time. That child of destiny was given to Parents of staunch Catholic background Mr & Mrs. Augustine Akpan. immediately the parents named him Raymond, possibly because they detected that in him lies something Royal and he come as a long-awaited hope to preserve the legacy of the family.
As an only son, Roymond was as to be expected pampered but never spoilt, that is why his mother ensured that he was brought up to keep faith with the strict regimen of the Christian orientation as practiced by the Catholic Church. Mama ensured that Raymond never missed morning prayers, on indulgence little Raymond perceived as authoritarian and thus charged mum with being wicked. This was so because other mothers he knew never insisted that their children must attend morning prayers.
When the time came for him to learn to write, he was promptly enrolled of the then Elementary school Nto Nsek where he obtained his first school leaving certificate in 1978. Raymond obtained his West African School certificate in 1989 and proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1998.
ln his quest for education, Ray as popularly called by friends and
admirers hos earned several Diplomas in various fields. He is a professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and
Supply Management and also a member of the International Institute of Logistics.
Raymond was employed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Petroleum Inspectorate Division now known as Deportment of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on November 17th 1987
as on office attendant on grade level 3.
Raymond, unlike some of his contemporaries, was not satisfied at the level he was employed by the much sought-after NNPC, he saw
that as the first ladder to greatness hence he utilized every opportunity he had to upgrade his academic records. From those
days of little beginning, Ray has sure-footedly risen to the pinnacle of his chosen career earning himself into various appointments and
positions of responsibilities such as:

Amb. Victor Etim Thomas, a dynamic, smart and articulate individual who is always ready to take up any challenge and ride on it like eagle, hails from Nung Ukana in lbesikpo/Asutan LGA of Akwa lbom State.
A seasoned consultant on Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Oil and Gas Operations. He holds MBA degree, Level 5 Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management (UK) and Higher National Diploma in Accounting. His work experience span from Banking to Oil & Gas Operations.
Having worked in various units in Total Nigeria Plc such as Treasury, Import, Supply Chain control and Operations, he acquired enough skills and technical know how to set up his own Energy and Resources Company (Glurek Energy and Resources Ltd) which he is the Chairman. Amb. Victor Thomas is an ardent Iover of community development.
Through his assistance, his local community have benefited in many developmental projects and human capital development such 3s, roads, water and electr’ification and youth empowerment. He has many awards and accolades to his pedigree such as UNITED NATIONS AMBASSADOR OF PEACE.
Victor has attended various training programs both in Nigeria and abroad bordering on Oil Trading and Contractual Framework, logistics and supply chain management. He is currently the Group Executive Director in charge of Finance, Strategy and Administration in Demavid Group of Companies. Victor is married with three children.

Captain Prince John Etim is a Socio- Economic crusader who champion the course of the down trodden, constantly advocating for a better live for the people in the communities impartation through entrepreneurial skills for self-reliance’ A native of Okobo in Akwa lbom State, he is a Seasoned Sailor and instructor, he was trained in Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron and Federal institute of Fisheries and Oceanography And World Marine School, Malmo, Sweden’ Mr. John Etim is a youth Activist and a target oriented individual, he holds Academic and Professional Qualifications in different fields such as Oil and Gas, land and High Sea Constructions and Marine.
He holds an HND degree in Nautical Science, B.sc and PGD as well as a Master License> 500 Grt along with other Professional Qualifications. He has sailed Onboard many Foreign going vessels as Chief mate as well Captain with DSNL Offshore Nig. Ltd, Adamaq marine, Hopic Nigeria Limited, Moni Pulo Nig. Ltd, Centrica Energy Nig. Ltd, Shalseis Marine, United Kingdom etc.
He is a Chartered member of the institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and Member Chartered institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) He is grounded with both Onboard and Ashore Administrative Experience with over 15 years of industry experience.
He is currently the Director Logistic and Planning in B & crew Anchor investment Nig. Ltd’, Former National Youth Leader of Oil and Solid Mineral Producing Area Landlords Association of Nigeria(OMPALAN), he had been a Former Youth Leader of Akwa lbom and Cross River States Community in Rivers State, Former Youth Co-ordinator Oron Union in Rivers and Bayelsa States, Former P.R.O of Oro Nation Oil and Gas Committee and the current President lbom Community and Development Stakeholders Forum
He is a Christian, a worker with one of the foremost church in Nigeria, The Redeemed Christian church of God and he is happily married with children.
